Dear Parent/Carers,

Welcome back and welcome to this week’s news.  I hope that you are all well.

The children have settled back in well and are busy with their friends making building castles, role playing in the home corner and making train tracks.  They will all be going for a walk around the village looking for shapes.  This week we will be settling back in.  We will also be getting out and about as much as we can.

I would like to thank you for your very kind donations of snack.  Please could I remind you to put the chain on the door when you enter and exit the Setting. Also, a parent has asked me to ask you to please take care when your in the back room with pushchairs or when you are reaching over to hang something on the pegs to be careful of the little people.  Thank you.  Please can I ask that your child does not bring peanut butter sandwiches as we have a child with a nut allergy.  Thank you.

The parent meetings have started this week with Emma having her appointments.  Please either phone or email if you would like to meet with your child’s keyworker to go through your child’s celebration file.  Each keyworker has a week this term  and their weeks are as follows:

Emma week commencing                20/02/17

Gemma week commencing              27/02/17

Debbie Week commencing            06/03/17

Cheryl week commencing              13/03/17

Ro week commencing                     20/03/17

Ann week commencing                   27/03/17

Unfortunately, we are going to have to stop toys from home being brought in to Pre-school.  This is due to so many just lately being lost or taken home by other children.  We have thought long and hard about this decision but, as a staff, feel that unless it is a comfort toy then no toys from home will be allowed in.  If you choose to allow your child to bring in a comfort toy it is brought in at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible or look for missing toys at the end of the day.  Thank you.

We are going to be learning about growing, measuring length, weight etc. Do you have any plastic plant pots (no bigger than 20 cm around), soil, stone/gravel/decorative small stone, seeds  or any children’s gardening tools such as watering cans, trowels, forks?

Pauline will be opening up the Baby and toddler group tomorrow from 9.00 am until 11.00 am at the Methodist Hall in Shaldon and will have lots of lovely activities on offer.

Well that’s it for this week, until next time!
